Burkes Belluschi Residence

historical preservation/restoration

This house sits quietly in Portland’s West Hills with an expansive view.  Pietro Belluschi built this home for the Burkes family in the 1940s.  He later enjoyed it so much he purchased it for his own home in 1972 upon returning to Portland from Massachusetts.  His son Anthony Belluschi, FAIA, repeated the story when he returned to Portland choosing to live in this house with his wife, Marti.  Tony and Marti Belluschi undertook the preservation and restoration of this home in recent years.  Working closely with the clients, Greenline served as general contractor and specialty woodworkers.  All surfaces were restored to extend new life and invigorate this gem.

Original Build date: 1949
Architect: Pietro Belluschi
